In his new role, Vipin Kapooria will work closely with Blinkit Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albinder Singh Dhindsa and Zomato CFO Akshant Goyal
Blinkit, a Zomato-owned quick commerce company, has appointed Vipin Kapooria as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Kapooria was previously the Vice President of Business Finance at Flipkart. He is the company’s first full-time CFO since the tenure of Amit Sachdeva, which ended in 2022.
This appointment comes shortly after Zomato identified Blinkit as its most important business division, with plans to outgrow its core food delivery segment. In his new role, Kapooria will work closely with Blinkit Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albinder Singh Dhindsa and Zomato CFO Akshant Goyal.
With over 16 years of experience, Kapooria is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and brings a wealth of expertise to Blinkit. He spent more than seven years at Flipkart, a Walmart-owned company, and has also held roles at OYO and Yum! Restaurants, the parent company of brands like Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC in India.
He has also been roped in weeks after Zomato raised Rs 8,500 crore (USD 1 billion) through its QIP. Of the Rs 8,500 crore, Rs 2,137 crore will be allocated towards the expansion of Blinkit’s services as the company bets on the unit’s potential. Blinkit has hired Kapooria at a time when the company, along with others in the quick commerce industry, is scaling operations and betting big on rapid food delivery.
