The brand introduces the ‘Weapon’ line of sneakers with a vintage tie to the brand’s history
Converse has extended its product line in India and introduced the ‘Weapon’ line of sneakers with a vintage vibe.
The company showcased its newest shoe collection in a release which draws attention to its ties to basketball culture. These new ‘legacy trainers’ are reminiscent of Converse’s ‘Choose Your Weapon’ campaign from the 1980s, which capitalised on the rivalry between the US sports teams, the Lakers and the Celtics in the National Basketball Association.
The brand said in the release, “Crafted with collaboration and community at the core, it recreates the iconic 1986 ‘stitch for stitch’ take on the shoe. Furthermore, the sneakers feature the original design, defined by its ‘Y-Bar’ ankle support and star chevron detailing, highlighting its craftsmanship and authenticity. Available in two colour variants, the ‘Weapon’ exudes a youthful arrogance in your style while its contemporary leather silhouette offers all-day comfort.”
