Highlighting consumer preferences and shopping habits for 2024, Nykaa, the beauty and fashion retailer owned by FSN-E Commerce Ventures has unveiled the ‘Nykaa Beauty Trends Report’. The report revealed that the company reported a 60 per cent increase in midnight purchases as customers shopped for lipsticks, serums and sheet masks.
The company managed to sell one lakh lipsticks daily as it kissed 2024 goodbye. Lipstick shades such as nude, red and brown were among the top choices as far as Indian consumers are concerned. Maybelline New York’s Colour Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in ‘657 Nude Nuance’ and Nykaa Matte To Last! Transfer proof Liquid Lipstick in ‘Chai’ are among the top picks.
The demand for Korean beauty products rose 2.5 times faster than the average, especially for brands such as COSRX, TONYMOLY, The Face Shop, and LANEIGE, as highlighted by the report. Indian consumers did not shy away from adopting the global trends as global beauty flew 1.5 times higher.
Highlighting that male shoppers are opting for luxury products, the report pointed out that one fragrance was sold every ten minutes as luxury fragrances such as Dior, Clinique, Davidoff, and YSL attracted the eyeballs. Some popular luxury skincare brands among men are Kama Ayurveda, Kiehl’s, and Clinique.
The demand for Charlotte Tilbury products also grew on a healthy basis as it rose three times faster than the average. Some of the popular products from the brand are Pillow Talk lipstick, foundations, and setting sprays.
The company shared that the beauty aficionado from Jammu spent Rs 2.5 lakh across 54 brands in one go, while a face wash was delivered in 10 minutes in Mumbai. The company added 53 new stores across India, including Agartala, Jabalpur, Rourkela and Ajmer in the year. A Delhi user spent Rs 21.5 lakh on 110 orders, while one shopper took ‘luxury goddess vibes’ to the next level by spending Rs 14.5 lakh on Dior, BVLGARI among other brands this Navratri.
Valentine’s Day came out on top during the gifting season, where Indian consumers chose products such as Victoria’s Secret perfumes, bath and body works lotions, and M.A.C lipsticks. Wednesdays emerged as the most popular days for gifting, among the weekdays.
