Abhijeet Sonar has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Stanley Retail, a part of Stanley Lifestyles, as the company looks to strengthen leadership and accelerate growth in the premium retail segment.
Sonar brings more than 27 years of experience across luxury, hospitality, aviation, automotive and lifestyle sectors, with a track record of driving brand growth, operational transformation and market expansion, the company said in the issued statement.
Prior to joining Stanley Retail, he held senior leadership roles across several global luxury brands. At Hansgrohe Group, where he led operations for India and the SAARC region, Sonar oversaw one of the company’s strongest growth phases, driving performance for its premium brand Axor and positioning India among its top global markets. He also built a digital engagement ecosystem for architects and interior designers.
Earlier, he led a turnaround at Villeroy & Boch, reversing cumulative losses across multiple regions and expanding the brand’s presence to 27 premium showrooms. During his tenure at Audi’s Mumbai operations, Sonar executed key market-entry strategies and helped drive record luxury automobile sales.
His early career included roles at InterContinental Hotels Group, Thanks and Jet Airways, where he gained experience in luxury service delivery and high-value consumer behaviour. During his aviation career, he also received Presidential Medals from India and the United States and was selected for the US Presidential Entourage.
The appointment comes as Stanley Retail continues to expand its portfolio and strengthen its presence in India’s premium furniture and lifestyle market, with a focus on building a global luxury ecosystem rooted in Indian craftsmanship, contemporary design and elevated consumer experiences.
