Panos Mytaros will be succeeding Sandeep Kataria, who has led the Group since 2020
The Bata Group has appointed Panos Mytaros as its new Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 15th September 2025. Mytaros will be succeeding Sandeep Kataria, who has led the Group since 2020.
Mytaros brings over 30 years of global leadership experience in the footwear and leather industry. He joins Bata following a distinguished career at ECCO, where he held several senior positions, including, most recently, Chief Executive Officer from 2021 to 2024.
“Bata is a brand I have known since my earliest days in the footwear industry. I am thrilled to join this global, family-owned company with 130 years of history, a presence in about 50 countries, more than 30,000 dedicated employees, and millions of loyal consumers. I look forward to connecting with the world of Bata, its people, its partners, and its customers,” highlighted Panos Mytaros.
Kataria has helmed Bata through a significant period of transformation, navigating the challenges of a global pandemic and a fast-evolving retail landscape. Under his leadership, Bata accelerated its digital agenda, streamlined operations, expanded into new markets, modernized business practices, and laid the foundations for future growth, as per the official statement.
“Bata is much more than a great company, it is a community, a legacy, and a force for good around the world. Leading this powerful team has been one of the great privileges of my life. I will always carry Bata in my heart,” stated Sandeep Kataria.
Graham Allan, Chairman of the Bata Group, noted, “Panos is a proven leader with deep industry knowledge and a passion for footwear craftsmanship. His track record in brand building and developing compelling footwear collections, as well as in leading complex international organisations, made him the ideal candidate to guide Bata through our next phase of growth. We are delighted to welcome Panos to the Bata Group.”
