BigBasket’s B2C Arm’s FY26 Losses Widen 66% To Rs 3,073 Cr

Bigbasket Targets 2025 IPO After Turning Profitable

Turnover has increased to Rs 8,223 crore in the last fiscal year, as per the annual report of Tata Sons for FY26

The losses of Innovative Retail Concepts, which operates the consumer-facing businesses of BigBasket, have increased by 66 per cent on a year-on-year basis. The losses in the financial year 2026 widened to Rs 3,073 crore, as competition in the quick commerce industry heats up.

Turnover increased to Rs 8,223 crore in the last fiscal year, as per the annual report of Tata Sons for FY26. On the other hand, its business-to-business (B2C) arm, Supermarket Grocery Supplies, reported flat revenue of Rs 2,298 crore in FY26. Its losses remained unchanged at Rs 102 crore.

Last month, BigBasket appointed Amit Nanda as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), signalling a leadership transition as the company steps up its focus on quick commerce and technology-led retail expansion in India’s competitive online grocery market.

The move comes as Bigbasket intensifies efforts to scale faster deliveries, expand assortment and strengthen its platform capabilities across metros and emerging cities, where competition among ecommerce and quick commerce players continues to rise.

Nanda joins Bigbasket from Amazon India, where he served as Director, Selling Partner Services, overseeing key parts of the marketplace and third-party seller ecosystem. His appointment brings platform-scale and marketplace experience at a time when Bigbasket is deepening its digital commerce capabilities.

Co-founders Hari Menon and Vipul Parekh will continue on the Board and remain involved in mentoring the leadership team, ensuring continuity in strategy and governance as operational leadership transitions to Nanda. In another move, the company elevated Seshu Kumar Tirumala to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), recognising over a decade of significant contribution to the company’s growth and evolution. In his new role, Tirumala leads operations and plays a key role in driving execution as bigbasket continues to strengthen its quick commerce business.
