DMart parent Avenue Supermarts has taken its store count to 500 across the country after it opened 12 stores on the last day of the financial year 2026. The company opened a store at Omaxe Connaught Place, Beta II, Greater Noida, which is positioned as its largest NCR store.
The new stores on 31 March 2026 have come up in cities including Pune, Chennai, Cuttack, Lucknow, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Bilaspur, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and Nagpur. The NCR store spans over 50,000 square feet on a single floor.
Omaxe Connaught Place has a retail footprint of approximately 12 lakh square feet with a well-established mix of brands across fashion, electronics, dining and entertainment. The entry of DMart introduces a high-frequency retail category that complements this mix and is expected to drive consistent, everyday footfall, Omaxe said.
“As the residential base around Greater Noida continues to expand, the need for dependable, everyday retail becomes more important. The addition of DMart brings that consistency. Our focus is to build a balanced retail mix that remains active through the week, not just on weekends,” stated Jatin Goel, Executive Director, Omaxe.
Greater Noida is witnessing steady growth, supported by a rapidly expanding residential base and improving connectivity across the region. This is translating into increased demand for organised retail and integrated destinations that combine convenience with experience. At the same time, organised retail penetration in India remains under 15 per cent, indicating strong headroom for growth, particularly in emerging urban clusters like Greater Noida, the statement from Omaxe noted.
