Festive Season: Amazon Expands Network With 12 New Fulfilment Centres

Amazon Invests $ 1.2 Bn To Combat Fraud, Counterfeiting In 2023

The company also informs the setting up of six new sort centres (SCs) in Hubli, Trivandrum, Rajpura, Gorakhpur, Moradabad and Prayagraj

Ahead of the upcoming festive season, Amazon has notified a major expansion of its operations network with the introduction of 12 new fulfilment centres (FCs) and the expansion of 6 FCs. This expansion adds a combined 8.6 million cubic feet of incremental storage capacity.

This expansion brings the first Amazon FC to five cities, including Hooghly, Tiruvallur, Krishnagiri, Visakhapatnam and Hubballi. The company also informed the setting up of six new sort centres (SCs) in Hubli, Trivandrum, Rajpura, Gorakhpur, Moradabad and Prayagraj with a combined area of 5,00,00 square feet.

The new sites will be operated and managed by strategic partners who are leaders in the logistics industry and will significantly boost delivery speeds for customers across the country, the company said in an official statement. The expansion will help sellers better serve customers by placing selection closer to them and is expected to create thousands of new work opportunities that will provide economic benefits to the region, the company added.

“As India gets ready for the festive season, we are readying ourselves to enable sellers to serve customers across the country. The 12 new fulfilment centers and 6 new sort centers will significantly boost our ability to provide customers across the country, the fastest, safest and more reliable deliveries,” highlighted Abhinav Singh, Vice President Operations India and Australia at Amazon.

Recently, Amazon had disclosed the setting up of five new FCs in Delhi NCR, Indore, Bhubaneshwar, Kochi and Rajpura as well as more than 30 new last-mile delivery stations in cities like Panchkula, Nagpur, Hubli, Mohali, Howrah, and Indore among others. Earlier in 2025, Amazon had notified an additional Rs 2,000 crore in investment as part of its commitment to building and operating one of India’s fastest, safest, and most reliable operations network.

The investment will be used to expand and upgrade operations infrastructure, improve associate safety and well-being programs, and develop new tools and technology for its fulfilment network. Last week, Amazon claimed that it has created more than 1,50,000 seasonal work opportunities across its operations network. These include direct and indirect work opportunities in more than 400 cities across India, including cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Bangalore,
