Swiggy, HDFC Bank launch BLCK and Ornge cards

BLCK and Ornge variants offer cashback on food delivery, travel bookings and online shopping, with potential annual savings of up to Rs 48,000

Food delivery platform Swiggy and HDFC Bank on Monday introduced two new variants of their co-branded credit card as the companies seek to deepen rewards for customers spending across food delivery, quick commerce, travel and online shopping.

The new Swiggy BLCK HDFC Bank Credit Card and Swiggy Ornge HDFC Bank Credit Card expand the partners’ existing credit card offering launched in 2023, and come with cashback and partner discounts that could amount to annual savings of up to Rs 48,000 depending on usage, the companies said.

The BLCK variant is aimed at higher-spending users and offers 10 per cent cashback on purchases made on Swiggy, up to 5 per cent cashback across select entertainment, travel and e-commerce platforms and 1 per cent cashback on other transactions. Cardholders will also receive a complimentary three-month Swiggy One BLCK membership.

The Ornge version, designed for more routine spending, provides 5 per cent cashback on Swiggy and certain online categories, along with 1 per cent cashback on other transactions. Users will also get a 12-month Swiggy One membership.

In addition to cashback on Swiggy purchases, the cards extend rewards across several partner platforms and more than 30 online merchants, including e-commerce marketplaces such as Amazon, Flipkart and Myntra.

Cardholders will also receive discounts and cashback on travel and beauty platforms including Cleartrip and Nykaa, with offers such as a 19 per cent discount and 5 per cent cashback on hotel bookings and a 6 per cent discount plus 5 per cent cashback on flight bookings through Cleartrip.

Existing holders of the Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card will continue to receive cashback benefits across the Swiggy ecosystem and partner merchants.

The companies said the two cards will be rolled out in phases and customers will be able to apply through the Swiggy app or through HDFC Bank’s digital platforms.
