The online marketplace Nova connects over 6,000 bus owners with verified bus product and service vendors across the country
Redbus, an online bus ticketing platform, has introduced Nova, a business-to-business (B2B) vertical aimed at strengthening and modernising India’s intercity bus ecosystem. The online marketplace Nova connects over 6,000 bus owners with verified bus product and service vendors across the country.
The company stated that Nova supports easy discoverability of new technology and products. Bus owners can purchase safety-related products (CCTVs, alcohol testing meters, driver monitoring system) and services (safety audits, driver training). The platform also supports operational efficiencies with products like passenger announcement system, onboard diagnostics, fuel additives and others.
“With Nova, our intention is to enable market dynamics to empower both sides of the equation – bus operators and vendors. The platform connects bus operators with a wide network of vendors and service partners, addressing long-standing challenges in procurement, reliability, discoverability,” stated Prakash Sangam, Chief Executive Officer, Redbus.
Nova is integrated with redPro, the company’s cloud-based analytics platform and will function as an integrated marketplace. In its pilot phase, more than 100 unique operators have placed at least one order, the company added.
The company pointed out that this marks a strategic expansion of redBus’ existing B2B portfolio beyond ticketing and addresses industry challenges around fragmented sourcing, inconsistent product quality and delayed vendor payments.
