Virat Kohli-backed Agilitas Sports Raises Rs 225 Cr From Nexus, Rainmatter

The company says that the fresh capital will be used to accelerate its long-term growth strategy across manufacturing, brand building, retail expansion

Agilitas, the sportswear platform built from India, has raised Rs 225 crore through a Rs 200 crore follow-on investment from Nexus Venture Partners and a Rs 25 crore investment from Rainmatter by Zerodha.

The company says that the fresh capital will be used to accelerate its long-term growth strategy across manufacturing, brand building, retail expansion and technology as the company continues to build an integrated sportswear ecosystem.

The round builds on the Rs 100 crore invested by Nexus Venture Partners and the Rs 400 crore invested by funds advised by Convergent Finance LLP in 2023. Strategic investors in Agilitas include Virat Kohli, who has invested Rs 40 crore in the platform, along with Anushka Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Hardy Sandhu and Abhishek Sharma.

“We started Agilitas with a simple but ambitious belief, India deserves a sportswear company that can build across the entire value chain, from manufacturing and product creation to brands and retail. This investment from Nexus and Rainmatter gives us the ability to accelerate that vision further,” stated Abhishek Ganguly, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Agilitas.

In 2025, 58 employees also participated in an internal investment round, the company said. Since acquiring Mochiko Shoes in 2023, Agilitas has scaled its manufacturing capabilities, with revenues from the business growing from Rs 642 crore in FY23 to Rs 1,350 crore in FY26. Currently, platform manufactures for both owned and partner sports footwear brands across categories.

“Agilitas combines long-term ambition with strong execution. In a short period of time, the company has built meaningful scale in manufacturing, unlocked exciting brand opportunities and demonstrated early success in retail,” said Suvir Sujan, Co-founder and Partner, Nexus Venture Partners.

On 21 June 2026, the company will unveil One8, the high-performance sportswear brand co-founded with Virat Kohli. Agilitas has also entered sports retail with Sportsyard, its large-format multi-brand retail concept bringing together global brands such as Nike, adidas, New Balance, Asics, Puma and Skechers under one roof.

“At Rainmatter, we believe India will build large, enduring businesses in sports and fitness as more people take up movement and active lifestyles. Agilitas is building for that shift with a performance focused sportswear brand,” highlighted Nithin Kamath, Founder and CEO, Zerodha and Rainmatter.

Following the strong early success of its first Bangalore store, which turned profitable within two months of opening, the company plans to open ten additional stores across India this financial year.
