Beer brand Bira 91 has appointed Manoj Kohli and Bharat Anand as independent directors, according to a press release on Wednesday.
Bringing in a wealth of experience spanning over four decades, Kohli, the former MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel and Country Head for Softbank India, now serves as a senior advisor at Deloitte India.
Anand, another distinguished independent director at the brewery, previously held the position of partner and office head at Khaitan & Co.
Commenting on these appointments, Ankur Jain, Founder and CEO of Bira 91, remarked, “We are at a crucial juncture in our business, and as we continue our trajectory of rapid growth, our focus remains on fostering long-term sustainability, enhanced risk management, and elevated corporate governance standards.”
Established in 2015, B9 Beverages, the parent company of Bira 91, currently boasts six manufacturing units and distributes its products in 24 countries. Additionally, Bira 91 operates four taprooms in Bangalore and Delhi-NCR.
