Flipkart Minutes Lights Up Dhanteras With 1.5X Growth

Flipkart’s quick commerce arm sees record 19.37 lakh orders as Indians embrace instant deliveries for festive gifting, décor, and pooja essentials

 

Flipkart’s quick commerce platform, Flipkart Minutes, has witnessed a remarkable surge in festive shopping this season, recording 1.5X growth in orders compared to its weekly average. Between 18 and 22 October, the platform processed over 19.37 lakh unique orders, underlining India’s growing appetite for instant delivery services during Dhanteras and Diwali.
The highest single order value stood at an impressive Rs 3.27 lakh, a testament to the platform’s increasing customer trust and its expanding range of festive essentials. From food and sweets to diyas, silver coins, rangoli powders, and rice lights, customers relied on Flipkart Minutes for both last-minute purchases and thoughtful gifting.
The pooja essentials category saw heightened demand, with customers ordering cotton wicks, havan items, incense sticks, dhoop, ghee, and pooja flowers in bulk. Simultaneously, home and kitchen products—including table lamps, dinner sets, air fryers, bedsheets, and cookware—saw strong traction as households prepared for the festive season.
Fashion and gifting also witnessed a significant uptick, with customers shopping for men’s shirts, jeans, duffle bags, and perfumes. Meanwhile, snacks and festive treats such as sweets, exotic nuts, and pistachios remained among the top-selling quick buys.
Regional growth patterns reflected strong participation across metros and emerging cities. Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai led the festive charge, while Tricity, Patna, and Guwahati stood out as key demand hubs in smaller markets.
To meet the spike in orders, Flipkart Minutes has expanded its store network across major cities, creating new employment opportunities and improving delivery efficiency. The company also partnered with D2C brands, including Mondelez and Farmley, to enhance its festive selection and cater to diverse consumer needs.
This robust growth underscores Flipkart Minutes’ role as a reliable and time-sensitive service for millions of Indians during the festive season—bridging the gap between convenience and celebration.
