Flipkart, India’s leading ecommerce platform, saw extraordinary engagement this festive season, recording 7.2 billion visits and an unprecedented 282 million unique visitors. This surge underscores the growing consumer sentiment and digital adoption across India, with customer interest particularly high in metros and Tier-2+ cities, setting new milestones in the country’s ecommerce landscape.

A notable 14.86 per cent rise in unique visitors was observed from Eastern India, along with a 12 per cent growth in customers compared to last year. Demand was strong nationwide, with sellers on Flipkart seeing a 40-50 per cent year-over-year growth, reflecting increased participation, expanded offerings, and higher sales this season.

Among the key shopping categories, Flipkart witnessed substantial interest in Fashion, Electronics (especially laptops and tablets), Home Essentials, Appliances, Beauty, and General Merchandise. This season, the shift towards premium brands was evident, with demand for high-end items increasing by 17 per cent YoY. Android smartphones with AI-driven features also saw significant traction. Flipkart’s affordable pricing models, in partnership with financial institutions, made premium products more accessible to a wider audience.

Flipkart also celebrated the success of its Crafted by Bharat sale, which was part of its Samarth initiative supporting local artisans, weavers, and rural entrepreneurs. Over 25,000 unique handicrafts were showcased by artisans, NGOs, and marginalised communities, with Samarth Sellers experiencing a 1.6x spike in growth and a 16 per cent rise in demand. This initiative has positively impacted 1.8 million livelihoods, reinforcing Flipkart’s role in fostering sustainable economic growth across India.

Reflecting on the season’s success, Harsh Chaudhary, Flipkart’s Head of Growth, said, “Every year, Flipkart begins the festive season with offerings that cater to the evolving needs of our customers. The overwhelming response this season highlights our commitment to redefining ecommerce across India. By leveraging technology and expanding our reach, we’ve delivered enhanced shopping experiences to millions while empowering a network of sellers. This season has not only delighted customers but also strengthened India’s retail landscape, creating significant economic impact and community support.”

Flipkart’s festive season initiatives have maximised value for customers, sellers, and brands alike, supporting MSMEs, artisans, and kirana partners. Additionally, Flipkart generated over one lakh seasonal jobs, boosting India’s gig workforce and contributing to the broader economy.
