On-demand personal care platform Billu plans to expand across Delhi-NCR and other metros, leveraging AI, referrals and a capital-efficient operating model to drive its next phase of growth
Billu, an on-demand personal care services platform, has achieved an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of Rs 24 crore, marking a key milestone in its growth journey. The company, which combines technology-led convenience with trained manpower, transparent pricing and a focus on customer experience, is now targeting Rs 100 crore in revenue over the next 18 months.
Founded by Neel Kulshreshtha and Nilesh Kothari, Billu has built its early scale around at-home personal care services designed to address common consumer pain points, including long salon waiting times, weekend inconvenience, hygiene concerns and high prices.
While Kulshreshtha has taken a passive role as an advisor, Kothari serves as CEO and is responsible for the company’s management and growth.
“Our growth has always been centred around solving everyday customer problems through convenience, affordability, and quality. The Rs 24 crore ARR milestone reflects the trust customers have placed in us and the strength of our operating model,” said Kothari.
“As we enter our next phase of growth, our focus will remain on delivering consistent service while expanding our presence across more cities. We are aiming to reach Rs 100 crore in revenue over the next 18 months,” he added.
30-Minute Service Promise
A key component of Billu’s proposition is its ability to deliver personal care services at customers’ homes in as little as 30 minutes. The company regularly trains its workforce and uses customer surveys to track evolving personal care requirements while keeping its services accessible across budgets.
Its mobile application allows customers to book services in three to four clicks, with transparent pricing and no hidden charges. Services start at Rs 299.
Billu currently records organic ratings of 4.5-4.8 stars across different platforms and collects feedback after every booking to monitor service quality, improve customer experience and encourage repeat usage.
Capital-Efficient Growth Strategy
The company has adopted a capital-efficient marketing approach, relying on online and offline visibility, customer referrals and repeat bookings instead of depending heavily on marketing expenditure.
Billu’s hybrid growth model combines digital channels, offline outreach and referrals. As demand has increased, the company has scaled its infrastructure and resources accordingly.
One of its operational challenges has been maintaining its 30-minute service commitment during periods of peak weekend demand. To address this, the company has deployed AI to optimise manpower allocation and service processes.
Expansion Across Metros
Billu plans to introduce new services across Delhi-NCR before expanding into other metropolitan cities. The company aims to build a trusted personal care platform around three core propositions — affordability, speed and quality.
With its next phase of expansion, Billu intends to scale its operations sustainably across India while continuing to focus on service consistency and customer experience.
