Reliance Retail-backed beauty platform exclusively introduced the South Korean skincare brand in India, expanding its premium international portfolio amid rising demand for clinically backed skincare
Reliance Retail-backed beauty platform Tira has expanded its premium beauty portfolio with the exclusive launch of South Korean skincare brand Dr. Melaxin in India, as the country’s fast-growing skincare market witnesses increasing consumer preference for clinically backed formulations targeting specific skin concerns.
The partnership marks Dr. Melaxin’s official entry into the Indian market. The brand’s products will be available through Tira’s online platform and selected offline stores, further strengthening the retailer’s portfolio of international beauty labels.
Founded on a “slow ageing” philosophy, Dr. Melaxin develops dermo-cosmetic skincare products designed to improve long-term skin health and resilience. Its formulations are clinically evaluated and cater to concerns such as pigmentation, enlarged pores, under-eye ageing and loss of skin firmness. The introduction in India will be led by the brand’s Peel Shot range, one of its flagship product lines. The range combines rice-derived AHA and BHA with Pentavitin and rice water to gently exfoliate the skin while helping refine pores, improve skin texture and enhance radiance.
This comes at a time when India’s premium beauty segment is witnessing robust growth, driven by rising consumer awareness of ingredient-led skincare and demand for products backed by clinical research. Beauty shoppers are increasingly opting for solutions tailored to concerns such as pigmentation, uneven skin texture, hydration and signs of ageing, prompting retailers to expand their premium skincare offerings.
Globally, Dr. Melaxin has established a presence across the United States, Japan and Southeast Asia. The company also claims to be the leading K-beauty brand on TikTok Shop in both the United States and the United Kingdom. Its products follow an “8-Free” formulation standard and are cruelty-free, dermatologist-tested and suitable for sensitive skin.
“Indian consumers are increasingly seeking effective skincare solutions for concerns such as pigmentation, texture and firmness, making the country an important market for the brand’s expansion,”Yu Kyoung Hwa, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Melaxin said.
