Artist-designed version of Tego’s training mat combines signature artwork with existing performance features
Premium activewear brand Tego has introduced a limited-edition version of its Stance Mat in collaboration with noted tattoo artist Eric Jason D’Souza, combining performance functionality with symbolic artwork centred on discipline and controlled movement.
The design features a tiger portrayed in a moment of stillness rather than motion, observant, grounded and composed, the company said the statement. The imagery represents the pause before action, a theme that aligns closely with Tego’s philosophy of purposeful, focused training.
“The iconic geometry on the original Tego Stance Mat is why I started using it in the first place. I wanted my work to live alongside that foundation, not replace it,” said Eric Jason D’Souza. “The tiger is not about aggression. It’s about that moment before movement when you’re completely present, completely still. That’s where real power comes from.”
“Eric had been using the mat long before we ever spoke about a collaboration. We build for everyday athletes who train with purpose and Eric embodies that,” said Krishna Chandak, Co-founder, Tego.
The mat retains the performance features of Tego’s standard Stance Mat. It includes a reversible surface with GuideAlign posture mapping on one side and a raised honeycomb texture on the other to provide grip during workouts. It is constructed using fused-cell material designed to reduce moisture absorption and support durability. The cushioning is intended to balance joint support with portability for use in studios, homes, or travel.
The product is made from responsibly sourced materials and is sold with a carry bag that includes a padded shoulder strap and storage compartments. Founded in 2016, Tego produces performance-focused apparel and accessories for training and recovery. The limited-edition mat is available through the company’s official sales platforms.
