Aimed at driving purchases during the upcoming Great Indian Festival sale, Amazon has reportedly hiked the commission rates for 50,000 creators who are part of the company’s influencer marketing network. As per the reports, the company will give the influencers to double their commission.
The media report quoting Zahid Khan, the director of Shopping Initiatives for India and Emerging Markets at Amazon has stated that the platform was dedicated to supporting the community of creators while improving the shopping experience for its customers.
As per the revised model, the company will give its influencers up to double their commission. In addition, it will also provide target-linked incentives of up to 15 per cent for those whose content is linked to increased sales.
As far as the categories are concerned, the highest standard commission income rate increase has been observed in segments such as apparel, accessories, beauty, personal care, appliances, home and kitchen products, garden items among others.
A survey on festive shopping sentiment by Disney + Hotstar has revealed that the festive shopping spending is expected to witness boost of 47 per cent as compared to last year. The top categories consist of mobiles, food and beauty products.
The country’s influencer marketing industry is set to hit Rs 5,500 crore in 2024, as per the Influencer Marketing Report 2024 from Influencer.in. This reflects the increased importance of social media creators among brands who now are willing to spend a significant portion of their marketing budgets to fund influencer campaigns.
