Campa, Independence Drive Reliance Consumer’s 60% Q2 Growth

Reliance Consumer Products posts 60% Q2 revenue growth to Rs 8,266 crore, driven by Campa beverages and Independence-led daily essentials.

Campa generated over Rs 5,250 crore in H1 FY27 sales, while Independence-led daily essentials contributed around Rs 7,000 crore

Reliance Consumer Products or RCPL, the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries, reported gross revenue of Rs 8,266 crore in the July-September quarter of FY27, registering a 60 per cent year-on-year increase. Growth was supported by its beverages and daily essentials businesses, led by Campa and Independence, respectively.

For the first half of FY27, RCPL’s gross revenue stood at Rs 16,900 crore, an increase of 80 per cent over the corresponding period last year. The company achieved nearly 80 per cent of its total FY26 revenue within the first six months of the current financial year, according to Reliance Industries’ investor presentation.

Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh D. Ambani said, “Our consumer products business kept its growth momentum, with the FMCG brand portfolio gaining further ground among Indian consumers.”

However, RCPL did not separately disclose quarterly consolidated profit attributable to shareholders, revenue from operations or earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda), limiting an assessment of the profitability of its expanding consumer products business.

Campa Beverages Cross Rs 5,250 Crore In H1 Sales
The beverages portfolio, led by Campa, generated more than Rs 5,250 crore in sales during the first half of FY27, approximately 2.1 times its year-ago performance. The figure also represents more than 90 per cent of the portfolio’s full-year FY26 sales.

RCPL said it had become India’s third-largest non-alcoholic ready-to-drink (NARTD) beverages player, with double-digit market share across several states.

The daily essentials business, led by Independence, recorded approximately Rs 7,000 crore in H1 sales, around 1.7 times the corresponding period last year. Edible oils and dry fruits were among the key contributors, while Independence and Udhaiyam supported growth in the pulses category.

The company is also expanding its home and personal care portfolio through brands such as Glimmer. “Home and personal care led by Glimmer is gaining early consumer traction in the market,” Reliance said in its investor presentation.

RCPL attributed growth across its product categories to portfolio extensions, new launches and wider national distribution. In packaged foods, biscuits remain a focus category, with offerings aimed at both mass-market and premium consumers.

The company has also entered the dairy segment with ice creams, positioning the range in the accessible premium category. Made with real dairy cream, the products are available in cone, stick, tub, cup and brick formats.

RCPL Initiates Six Greenfield Manufacturing Projects
RCPL has initiated six integrated greenfield food and beverage manufacturing projects across India to strengthen its production capabilities. During the September quarter, the company also commissioned additional high-speed beverage production lines.

However, Reliance did not disclose the investment outlay, locations, production capacities or commissioning schedules for the six projects.

Campa Expands International Presence
Alongside its domestic expansion, RCPL is strengthening its overseas distribution network. Campa has entered major Australian supermarket chains Coles and Woolworths, supported by local production arrangements.

The company has also commenced operations in Kenya, adding to its existing presence in Ghana and Nigeria. Its international footprint further extends to the UAE, Oman and Malaysia.

Despite the strong year-on-year growth, RCPL’s reported figures indicate a sequential moderation in revenue. Based on H1 gross revenue of Rs 16,900 crore and September-quarter revenue of Rs 8,266 crore, the implied gross revenue for the June quarter stood at approximately Rs 8,634 crore. This translates into a sequential decline of around 4.3 per cent in the September quarter. Reliance’s investor presentation did not explain the movement.

The expansion of its product portfolio, manufacturing infrastructure and international distribution network reflects Reliance’s efforts to scale its FMCG operations. However, the absence of separate profitability disclosures leaves the earnings contribution and returns from these investments unclear.
