The revenue from operations rose to Rs 776.82 crore in the recently concluded quarter from Rs 718.28 crore in Q1FY25
Sapphire Foods India, which operates Pizza Hut and KFC restaurants in the country, has reported a loss of Rs 1.73 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year (Q1FY26), compared to a profit of Rs 8.18 crore in Q1FY25.
The financial results of the company revealed that the revenue from operations rose to Rs 776.82 crore in the recently concluded quarter from Rs 718.28 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Restaurant sales stood at Rs 774.8 crore in Q1FY26, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) came down 8.7 per cent YoY to Rs 113.3 crore in Q1FY26 from Rs 124.2 crore in Q1FY25. The EBITDA margin stood at 14.6 per cent in the recently concluded quarter as compared to 17.3 per cent in Q1FY25.
“Sapphire KFC same-store-sales-growth for the quarter was flat, however after several quarters SSTG has turned low single digit positive which is encouraging. This positive movement in transactions is on account of investment behind our Epic core variety X value campaign and offers,” the company said.
As far as the geographical presence of the company is concerned, it opened 11 new restaurants in the recently concluded quarter, taking the total to 974. Of this, 510 are KFC India restaurants, while 336 are Pizza Hut India ones. The remaining 128 restaurants are in Sri Lanka and Maldives. However, the company opened 54 restaurants in the third quarter of FY25. In Q1FY25, the number of new additions stood at 14.
