Saffron & Mishri Debuts In Mumbai With Two Stores & Cafes

Aimed at making Indian sweets a preferred dessert option, Saffron & Mishri, a premium artisanal mithai brand has made its debut in Mumbai with the opening of two stores and cafes in Mahalakshmi and Powai. The brand intends to handcraft authentic mithais with time-honoured artisanal recipes and ingredients.

Each cafe is designed with a warm, inviting ambience and art-inspired interiors which is an ode to traditional Indian crafts such as Banarasi and Kantha. Consumers can dine in at the aesthetic Powai outlet’s café, the brand said in a statement.

“We also observed that there is a significant void in today’s mithai industry—authenticity, hygiene, and transparency in sourcing are often overlooked. We, therefore, source the finest ingredients from different parts of the country and craft mithais at our state-of-the-art kitchen. At Saffron & Mishri, our aim is to help people rediscover their soul with Indian Mithais,” stated Gunjan Shrivastava, Founder of Saffron & Mishri.

The Mahalakshmi experience center features an interactive ‘Make Your Own Memories’ (MYOM) counter, where people can indulge in interactive workshops. Also, a unique feature of this outlet is an open walk-in kitchen concept, where customers can see the entire process of mithai-making behind closed transparent doors, as per the statement.

In addition to artisans, the brand stated that it also has food scientists on board who do quality control and keep a check on ingredients and mithai, to ensure consistency in quality and taste on a large scale. Mithais embody a connection to India’s festivals, harvest cycles, and timeless customs, ensuring that every bite carries the essence of heritage and nostalgia, the brand highlighted in its statement.
