The upgraded offerings include an advanced Integrations API suite and the widely sought-after POD payment option, following a successful pilot earlier this year
Amazon India has disclosed about the expansion of its Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) services, aimed at enhancing automation and introducing Pay-on-Delivery (POD) capabilities for sellers and Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) brands. The upgraded offerings include an advanced Integrations API suite and the widely sought-after POD payment option, following a successful pilot earlier this year.
Originally launched at Amazon Smbhav 2023, MCF enables businesses to leverage Amazon’s fulfillment network to process orders from various sales channels, including their own websites.
This eliminates the need for separate inventory pools, warehouses, or logistics partners, streamlining operations for D2C brands and small businesses. Over 1,000 entrepreneurs and brands, such as Himalayan Organics, DermaTouch, and Satthwa, have already adopted MCF, benefiting from its efficiency and reach.
Automation for Seamless Operations
The new Integrations API suite allows D2C sellers and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to automate order fulfillment by integrating their online platforms directly with Amazon’s network.
This innovation reduces manual errors, improves operational efficiency, and enhances the customer experience. ISV partners like Webbee and ShipTurtle have already implemented this solution, demonstrating its potential to scale businesses of all sizes.
Driving Sales with Pay-on-Delivery (POD)
Recognising the significance of cash-based transactions in India—where approximately 70 per cent of D2C orders are paid for in cash—the introduction of the Pay-on-Delivery option is a game-changer. This feature allows customers to make purchases on websites or social media stores and pay only upon delivery, addressing a critical trust factor. Businesses leveraging MCF can expect higher conversion rates and increased sales, thanks to this flexibility.
