Barbeque Nation’s Net Loss Widens To Rs 20.6 Cr In Q4

The company’s revenue from operations has dipped to Rs 292.77 crore in the recently concluded quarter from Rs 298.05 crore in Q4FY24

With the company’s revenue marking a dip due to a decline in India business, Barbeque-Nation Hospitality saw its net loss increase to Rs 20.61 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year (Q4FY25) from a net loss of Rs 0.037 crore in Q4FY24.

The financial results revealed that the revenue from operations dipped to Rs 292.77 crore in the recently concluded quarter from Rs 298.05 crore in Q4FY24. In FY25, it reported a decline in revenue from operations, which stood at Rs 1,233 crore in FY25 as compared to Rs 1,254.5 crore in FY24. The company’s loss after tax widened to Rs 27 crore in FY25 from Rs 11.17 crore in FY24.

The company’s operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at Rs 53.3 crore. The operating EBITDA margin was 18.2 per cent during the recently concluded quarter. The restaurant network stood at 230 in Q4FY25, up from 217 in the corresponding quarter in FY24. The same-store-sales-growth (SSSG) declined by two per cent during the quarter, while the same quarter in FY24 had seen growth of 1.4 per cent.

Segment-wise growth
As far as the performance of Barbeque Nation India is concerned, it added two new restaurants in Q4 FY25, with a current network of 191 restaurants. The company stated that five restaurants are under fit-out. The business maintained a gross margin of around 67 per cent. Revenue declined by around five per cent YoY, led by negative SSSG and low store expansion.

Barbeque Nation International opened Barbeque Nation in Colombo, Sri Lanka in Q4 FY25. It recorded YoY revenue growth of around 11 per cent, led by strong SSSG. The premium CDR business segment added two new restaurants during the quarter and recorded revenue growth of 11 per cent, the company stated in an exchange filing.

Near-term Priorities
For Barbeque Nation India, the company is aiming to revive same-store sales growth and drive network expansion of 8 to 10 per cent. As far as the strategic focus areas are concerned, the company is aiming for 300-325 restaurants by FY27 and maintaining leadership in the casual dining industry.
