Baskin Robbins India To Pass On GST Rate Cut Benefits From 22 Sep

Baskin Robbins Aims For 1,000 Stores In India & SAARC Region By 2024

While printed MRPs on some products may reflect older GST rates, customers will be charged lower prices as per the laminated price lists, company says

Baskin Robbins India has implemented the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST), reducing the GST on its products from 18 per cent to 5 per cent. The company will be passing the benefits to the consumers, with effect from 22 September.

The company noted that all invoicing from Baskin Robbins India and its distributors has shifted to 5 per cent GST. Parlour billing systems now reflect the revised rates, and invoices (printed and digital) clearly display the 5 per cent GST charge. While printed MRPs on some products may reflect older GST rates, customers will be charged lower prices as per the laminated price lists. Re-stickering has not been undertaken to avoid product quality risks from thermal shock, the company’s statement added.

“We are adopting a multi-channel approach to communicate this change, from social media announcements to in-store displays and transparent invoicing, ensuring that both our consumers and trade partners are fully informed. This not only makes the transition seamless but also reflects our commitment to value and trust,” highlighted Mohit Khattar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Graviss Foods.

The company emphasised that base prices on parlour TV panels and translites remain unchanged (exclusive of GST). In parlours with digital screens, a running ticker announces the new GST rate. Laminated price lists near point-of-sale (POS) counters indicate the new lower prices for all MRP products.

A full before and after price list is live on the brand’s website. The company said that in addition, the brand will also use a mix of traditional and digital platforms to reach out to consumers.
