Designed to make digital commerce more inclusive and accessible, Nirmit Bharat’s DigiHaat has onboarded over two lakh users and supported 4,727 sellers
Registering healthy growth since its formation in October 2024, DigiHaat, the buyer app introduced by Nirmit Bharat, a 100 per cent subsidiary of the open network for digital commerce (ONDC), has crossed over three lakh cumulative orders by 14 April 2025.
Designed to make digital commerce more inclusive and accessible, the app has onboarded over two lakh users and supported 4,727 sellers, a majority of whom are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), artisans, and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), as per the official statement.
“We have seen a remarkable uptake, thanks to the power of ONDC’s open network and the trust of local sellers and buyers. Our mission is to create a level playing field for small businesses and empower every Indian, whether in a metro or a remote pincode, to participate in the digital economy with ease, trust, and transparency,” highlighted Rahul Vij, Chief Operating Officer, Nirmit Bharat.
As far as consumer behaviour is concerned, DigiHaat users are making repeat purchases up to three times a month, indicating retention. Since its introduction, the app has generated a gross merchandise value (GMV) of approximately Rs five crore.
Category-wise, the platform has seen strong traction in groceries, food, and essential goods, with over 2.7 lakh orders in grocery alone, followed by 35,759 orders in food and 2,250 in beauty and personal care, amongst others, the official statement read, which added that its reach spans a wide geographic footprint, now servicing over 2,400 pincodes across metros and India’s tier 2 and tier 3 towns.
