IKEA will be commencing the online delivery in partnership with Rhenus Logistics through its 1.5 lakh square feet warehouse facility in Gurugram, as per the reports
Swedish retail giant IKEA is likely to ecommerce operations in the Delhi-NCR region, nearly after seven years since it marked its entry into the Indian market, according to the media reports. Online delivery by IKEA in the region will start before it opens two under-construction stores in Noida and Gurugram.
The reports added that IKEA currently delivers in four states, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Telangana, where it also has an offline presence, with stores in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad. IKEA will be commencing the online delivery in partnership with Rhenus Logistics through its 1.5 lakh square feet warehouse facility in Gurugram, as per the reports.
The company entered into a partnership with the Germany-headquartered Rhenus Logistics to support its ecommerce expansion into Delhi-NCR by early 2025, as per the reports. The company is expected to begin offline operations in the region with the Gurugram store first. The reports state that this will be having a floor space of four lakh square feet and a 1000-seater restaurant.
The reports added that the Noida store is under construction since September last year, when Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh laid the foundation store. The ecommerce business of the home furnisher in India is growing and accounts for around 30 per cent of total sales, the reports stated.
