Instamart Appoints Gautam Swaroop As CBO Post Hari Kumar’s Exit

In this role, Swaroop will oversee Instamart’s commercial operations spanning customer-centric growth, category management, and brand relationships and expansion

Quick commerce platform Instamart has appointed Gautam Swaroop as Chief Business Officer (CBO), after Hari Kumar stepped down last week. In this role, Swaroop will oversee Instamart’s commercial operations spanning customer-centric growth, category management, and brand relationships and expansion.

The company said that Swaroop brings over two decades of experience across consulting, pharmaceuticals and technology. He began his career at McKinsey & Company, where he spent a decade on strategy and operations transformation. He then joined Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, scaling the emerging markets business from USD 37 million to USD 190 million in revenues.

“Gautam brings deep expertise and a proven track record of scaling businesses in dynamic, fast-paced industries, and his leadership will be beneficial as we continue to deliver unparalleled convenience to consumers. I’m delighted to welcome him to the team. I would also like to thank colleagues who have helped build the business and wish them success in their future endeavours,” stated Girish Menon, Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), Swiggy.

Most recently, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OYO’s international business, he steered a portfolio spanning the United States (US), United Kingdom (UK), Europe, China and LATAM to profitability. His appointment is part of a broader strengthening of Instamart’s leadership team. The platform has also welcomed Srikar Adavi, VP, Ad Monetization and Hardeep Kaur, AVP, Category (FMCG) among others.
