Italian Fashion Maestro Giorgio Armani Passes Away

The Armani Group, in an official statement, confirmed the passing of its founder, Giorgio Armani

Il Signor Armani, as he was always respectfully and admiringly called by employees and collaborators, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. Indefatigable to the end, he worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and the many ongoing and future projects, the statement read.

“In this company, we have always felt like part of a family. Today, with deep emotion, we feel the void left by the one who founded and nurtured this family with vision, passion, and dedication. But it is precisely in his spirit that we, the employees and the family members who have always worked alongside Armani, commit to protecting what he built and to carrying his company forward in his memory, with respect, responsibility, and love.” His employees and his family.

The company was founded in 1975 and marks its golden jubilee this year. Armani was known for designing the ‘power-suit’ for women, leaving a lasting impact on the fashion industry. His designs were featured in a Hollywood film in the 1980s and have since been worn by many celebrities over the years. He was a pioneer in the fashion industry, and his vision helped grow the brand into a multi-billion-dollar business. His passing is a huge loss to the industry.

The funeral chamber will be accessible to the public in Milan at Armani/Teatro on September 6 and 7, giving admirers and well-wishers an opportunity to pay their final respects. The funeral service itself, however, will be conducted in private, in keeping with Armani’s personal wishes for an intimate farewell.
