Ankush Grover will replace Jaydeep Barman, who will transition into the role of Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Marking a leadership transition, Rebel Foods, an internet restaurant company, has elevated Ankur Grover, its Co-founder and India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to Global CEO. Grover will be replacing Jaydeep Barman.
“We are pleased to announce a leadership transition at Rebel Foods. Ankush Grover, Co-founder and previously CEO – India, has been elevated to Global CEO of Rebel Foods. Over the years, Ankush has played a pivotal role in building Rebel from the ground up and scaling it across markets,” the official statement read.
Barman will transition into the role of Chairman and Group CEO, overseeing Rebel Foods as well as its broader portfolio of investee companies. He will continue to mentor the leadership team and drive long-term strategic direction for the Group, the company said in a statement.
“As we move to the next phase of building our company, I have been thinking deeply about who should be the CEO of our business for the next decade, the biggest ‘who’ decision of my life. After deep introspection, it came down to two names- me, or Ankush, my partner of 13 years. And I have decided it should be Ankush, because he is an order of magnitude better than I am at things that matter most for Rebel’s next decade,” Burman highlighted in a LinkedIn post.
The company said that in his expanded role, all core functions, including technology, finance, marketing, and human resources, will now report directly to Grover. The official statement noted that this evolution marks a significant moment in Rebel’s journey, as it strengthens its leadership to power the company’s next phase of growth across geographies and categories.
