Redbus Anticipates 31% Growth In Bus Bookings In Delhi Ahead Of Holi

Male travellers account for 74 per cent, while female travellers make up 26 per cent of total bus bookings

As Delhi prepares for Holi, intercity travel across the state is gathering strong momentum. Data from the Redbus platform indicates that bus bookings in Delhi are projected to rise by 31 per cent during the Holi travel window.

The analysis compares projected bookings made between 28 February and 8 March 2026 with the corresponding period last year (8 to 16 March 2025), pointing to a clear acceleration in homebound and leisure-led journeys, highlighting a rise in demand for festive homebound travel, leisure trips, and reunions with family and friends.

Redbus pointed out that 44 per cent of travellers have opted for sleeper buses, underscoring the continued popularity of convenient overnight journeys during the festive travel period. Male travellers account for 74 per cent, while female travellers make up 26 per cent of total bus bookings.

The trend also signals evolving travel behaviour, with commuters increasingly booking in advance and opting for comfort-led services along high-demand corridors connecting major urban centres with hometown and tourism destinations, the brand said in a statement.

Top Routes by Traffic include Gazipur-Delhi, Delhi-Gazipur, Delhi-Manali, Delhi-Dehradun, Delhi-Jaipur and Delhi-Lucknow. Top Boarding Points by Traffic consist of ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Dhaula Kuan, Morigate, Akshardham Metro Station, Karol Bagh and Anand Vihar.
