Sneaker Brand Zaydn Raises $681K Seed Round To Drive Expansion

Retail Funding Dips 34% In Q1FY24 2024: Report

The Delhi-based sneaker brand will use the capital to expand inventory and production, strengthen marketing and accelerate growth across D2C and major marketplaces

Homegrown sneaker brand Zaydn has raised USD 681,000 in a seed funding round led by Inflexion Point Ventures (IPV), with participation from BeyondSeed and private angel investors. The company will use the fresh capital to expand inventory and production capacity, strengthen working capital and increase performance marketing efforts. The funding will also support Zaydn’s expansion across its direct-to-consumer (D2C) channel and key marketplaces, including Myntra, Amazon and Nykaa.

According to the official statement, Zaydn will also allocate funds towards new product development, brand building, technology and team expansion as it looks to scale its operations and strengthen its presence in India’s sneaker market.

Founded in 2022 by Ankit Dass and later joined by Vidushi Chaudhary, Delhi-based Zaydn Sneakers focuses on design-led and accessible sneakers for Gen Z consumers. The company has in-house manufacturing capabilities and operates through a digital-first model, with its products available through its D2C platform and online marketplaces.

“Building ZAYDN has always been about creating something young India can proudly call its own, bold, comfortable, premium-looking sneakers that let people express their individuality without stretching their budget. Our goal has never just been to make sneakers that look good; it’s to make sneakers our customers feel confident and proud to wear at a price that keeps them accessible,” said Dass.

India’s sneaker market was valued at approximately USD 3.2 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach US$4.49 billion by 2030, growing at nearly 6 per cent annually, according to industry estimates cited in the company’s statement. The category is benefiting from changing consumer preferences, with sneakers increasingly being adopted as everyday fashion rather than being limited to sports and athletic use.

The growth comes against the backdrop of India’s broader footwear market, estimated at around USD 18 billion. The expanding category is creating opportunities for homegrown brands seeking to compete through product design, differentiation and digital-first distribution.
