Wagg n Dine Introduces Human-Grade Pet Meals in Chennai

Pet-focused cloud kitchen offers fresh, customised dog meals, aligning with rising demand for premium and natural pet nutrition in urban India

Wagg n Dine, a cloud kitchen catering exclusively to pets, has launched a range of freshly prepared, human-grade meals for dogs in Chennai. Positioned as an alternative to conventional processed pet food, the service focuses on using natural ingredients and delivering ready-to-eat meals directly to customers’ homes.

The move comes amid strong growth in India’s pet care market, which is expanding at over 20 per cent annually. Within this, the pet cloud kitchen segment is emerging rapidly, supported by rising premiumisation and the growing trend of pet humanisation among urban consumers.

Wagg n Dine operates out of a dedicated human-grade facility, where meals are prepared fresh each day using ingredients such as chicken, purified RO water, and carefully sourced inputs. The offering is designed to combine nutritional quality with convenience for pet owners seeking healthier feeding options.

Manivannan, founder of Wagg n Dine, said the pet care landscape is undergoing a fundamental shift from just ‘feeding pets’ to ‘nourishing family members’.

He noted that while the overall pet food market is expected to grow at 6–8 per cent annually, premium categories are witnessing a significantly higher growth trajectory of over 20 per cent. This indicates a clear shift in consumer preference towards fresh, clean-label, and human-grade pet food solutions.

The company expects pet-focused cloud kitchens to drive the next phase of industry growth by offering convenience, customisation, and quality. It sees particular traction in urban markets such as Chennai, where demand for improved pet nutrition is steadily rising.

In line with its subscription-led model, Wagg n Dine has also introduced a new website aimed at streamlining the user experience. The platform allows pet owners to personalise meal plans and manage recurring deliveries based on their dog’s specific dietary needs.

Ahead of its official rollout, the company conducted a pilot with a select group of pet owners. According to Wagg n Dine, the feedback from both pets and their owners was positive, enabling it to refine recipes and optimise preparation methods. The brand continues to emphasise natural ingredients, daily cooking, and stringent hygiene standards in its operations.
