In an official statement, Zepto notes that this revocation was issued by the Food Safety Commissioner, following a detailed re-inspection process and submission of a compliance report
Nearly two weeks after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had suspended the license of the quick commerce platform Zepto’s store in Dharavi over hygiene issues and food safety violations, the store has now resumed operations once again following submission of a compliance report and re-inspection process.
“Zepto today confirmed that it is in receipt of the order stating revocation of suspension order of its Dharavi store. This revocation was issued by the Food Safety Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration, following a detailed re-inspection process and submission of a compliance report that demonstrated necessary corrective actions had been implemented,” the company issued an official statement.
As per the statement, the appeal filed by Zepto was heard on 13 June 2025. After reviewing the internal audit report, water analysis report, and photographic evidence, the appellate authority was passed an order allowing the appeal and thereby revoking the suspension order.
“Zepto is committed to adhering to all necessary food safety standards prescribed by the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and applicable regulations. It reiterates its strong commitment to upholding food safety standards and delivering a safe and trusted experience for its users nationwide,” the company said.
