For the fiscal year 2023-24, Gillette India recorded sales of Rs 2,633 crore, marking a 6 per cent increase compared to the previous year
Gillette India (GIL) shared its financial results for the quarter and fiscal year ended 30 June 2024. The company reported a robust performance, achieving balanced growth in both sales and profits despite a challenging operating environment.
For the fiscal year 2023-24, Gillette India recorded sales of Rs 2,633 crore, marking a 6 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 16 per cent to Rs 412 crore, driven by strong topline growth and product innovation. The fourth quarter results were equally encouraging, with sales reaching Rs 645 crore, up 4 per cent from the previous year, and PAT increasing by 26 per cent to Rs 116 crore.
V Kumar, Managing Director of Gillette India, expressed his satisfaction with the company’s performance, stating, “This was another strong performance by Gillette India, delivering balanced top-line and bottom-line growth. Our strategy of focusing on a product portfolio where performance drives brand choice, along with superior product quality, consumer communication, and retail execution, has been key to our consistent results.”
Gillette India continued to solidify its position as a leader in the Blades and Razors category throughout FY 2023-24, launching innovative products such as Gillette Labs razors and Venus Bikini Sensitive Razors. In the Oral Care segment, the company introduced Oral-B ‘Chhota Bheem’ toothbrushes, targeting young consumers with fun designs.
In addition to its commercial success, Gillette India remained committed to its corporate social responsibility initiatives through the P&G Shiksha program. This initiative has positively impacted more than 4.5 million children by improving access to education infrastructure and addressing educational inequities.
The board of directors has recommended a final dividend of Rs 45 per equity share for the financial year ended 30 June 2024, pending approval at the upcoming 40th Annual General Meeting.
