New 2026 lineup focuses on higher energy efficiency, smart connectivity and AI-driven cooling systems aligned with updated Bureau of Energy Efficiency standards
Daikin Airconditioning India on Thursday unveiled its 2026 product portfolio, introducing a new range of high-efficiency room air conditioners and the AI-enabled VRV Alpha central cooling system aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and smart climate control.
The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries of Japan, said the revamped room AC lineup has been designed to meet and exceed the latest star rating norms set by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) for 2026.
The new split AC models feature Daikin’s proprietary technologies including Streamer Discharge for air purification, a Swing Compressor for improved efficiency, smart IoT connectivity and DNNS anti-corrosion coating. The systems are also designed for high-ambient performance, capable of operating in temperatures of up to 54°C—conditions common in Indian summers.
With a stronger focus on five-star inverter models, the new range aims to offer quieter operation, faster cooling and improved energy savings while addressing rising consumer demand for sustainable home cooling.
In the commercial and premium residential segment, the company introduced the VRV Alpha series, which integrates artificial intelligence and advanced control software with Daikin’s patented Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) technology. The system is designed to analyse operating conditions and automatically optimise cooling performance for improved energy efficiency and comfort.
Commenting on the launch, Kanwaljeet Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India, said the 2026 range reflects the company’s continued focus on innovation tailored to Indian conditions. He added that Daikin’s three manufacturing facilities in India are supporting its growth strategy as demand for energy-efficient and eco-friendly air-conditioning solutions rises.
The company also announced that it will implement a price increase of 7–12 per cent across its product portfolio from April 2026 to offset rising raw material and supply chain costs.
India’s air-conditioning market is expected to witness strong growth in the coming years, driven by rising temperatures, urbanisation and increasing demand for energy-efficient cooling systems.
