Sharp Expands To South India Via Systech Distribution Deal

Japanese electronics major accelerates Indian expansion, partners with Systech to boost footprint in Karnataka and beyond

Japanese electronics giant Sharp Corporation has entered the South Indian market through a strategic partnership with Systech IT Solutions Ltd, a leading regional distributor. The collaboration signals Sharp’s intensified focus on its pan-India growth plan, beginning with Karnataka as the gateway to the southern region.

With a global innovation legacy spanning over a century and 25 years of presence in India, Sharp is known for its health-focused, energy-efficient consumer appliances, including air purifiers, refrigerators, air conditioners, microwaves, and kitchen gadgets. This partnership is set to significantly enhance the company’s product availability and consumer outreach in South India.

Systech IT Solutions, known for its expansive retail network and deep insight into southern consumer behaviour, will anchor Sharp’s distribution efforts across Karnataka and adjoining areas. The partnership builds on Sharp’s successful expansion into Eastern India last year and aligns with the brand’s mission to offer “Simply Better Living” through accessible innovation.

Osamu Narita, Managing Director of Sharp Business Systems India, noted, “India remains a strategic pillar of Sharp’s global roadmap. Our foray into Karnataka with Systech is a major step towards making Sharp’s globally trusted innovations available to more Indian households. Together, we aim to deliver products that are future-ready, reliable, and relevant.”

Mimoh Jain, Vice President – Sharp India Appliances, added, “Unlike seasonal products, our appliances offer year-round utility with a focus on health, hygiene, and well-being. This collaboration will help us deepen market access while building enduring trust with consumers in the southern region.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Abhishek Jain, Managing Director of Systech IT Solutions, said, “We’re excited to partner with a global innovator like Sharp. Our robust network and experienced team will help bring Sharp’s advanced technology to the doorsteps of South Indian consumers. We are confident this alliance will redefine the premium appliance segment in the region.”

This partnership is a part of Sharp’s larger strategy to grow its Indian footprint via regionally rooted partners who can ensure agility, service consistency, and cultural relevance. The move also reiterates the company’s commitment to its ‘Japan Quality 7 Shields’—a rigorous set of quality parameters that ensure safety, durability, and performance across product lines.

As consumer expectations evolve and demand for smart, sustainable living solutions rises, Sharp’s entry into South India through a trusted partner marks a bold step in its effort to become a household name across the country.

Founded in 1912 in Tokyo, Japan, Sharp is renowned for its innovation-first approach, having introduced world-firsts like the LCD calculator and 8K TV. The brand stands as a global leader in consumer electronics and display technologies, driven by its mission to enhance modern lifestyles through sustainable, high-performance innovations.
