Limited 192-bottle release blends Goa maturation with Bengaluru-inspired design
Paul John Indian Single Malt has introduced a new Bengaluru-exclusive single cask expression in collaboration with Bengaluru Duty Free, marking the third edition of its limited-release airport series.
The expression will be available exclusively to departing travellers at Terminal 2 of Kempegowda International Airport.
The Single Cask Unpeated release is limited to just 192 bottles, positioning it as a rare collectible for whisky enthusiasts. Unlike standard expressions that blend multiple casks for consistency, the release is drawn entirely from a single barrel, offering a distinct and individual flavour profile.
Distilled and matured in Goa, the whisky reflects the brand’s signature tropical maturation style. Bottled at 56 per cent ABV and priced at Rs 14,950 for a 70cl bottle, it features a deep gold hue with aromas of dark fruits, caramel, vanilla and manuka honey, alongside hints of leather, tobacco and spiced orange cake.
On the palate, it delivers notes of dark chocolate, brown sugar and black cherry, complemented by toasted nuts, vanilla and warm spices, followed by a long finish with oak tannins, dried fruits and cocoa.
Bengaluru-inspired design adds local touch
The packaging has been designed by noted artist Paul Fernandes, known for his “Bangalore Pictorial” series. It features a nostalgic depiction of Commercial Street, one of Bengaluru’s most recognisable cultural landmarks, adding a strong local identity to the release.
Paul P John, Founder and Chairman of John Distilleries, said the latest edition builds on strong consumer response to earlier releases. “These expressions are particularly meaningful as they capture the unique character of an individual cask. We are excited for travellers and whisky enthusiasts passing through Bengaluru to discover this offering,” he said.
The collaboration underscores the brand’s strategy to expand its presence in travel retail while showcasing Indian whisky craftsmanship alongside regional cultural elements.
