Since the declaration of Ram Mandir’s consecration ceremony, Ayodhya has emerged as the nation’s spiritual heart and a thriving economic powerhouse. The city does not just seem inviting to devotees but also to the businesses following them.
Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), the traders’ body last week stated that the business worth Rs 1 lakh crore is expected to be generated with the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on 22 January.
“This event not only resonates with religious sentiments but also brings a surge in economic activities. The faith and trust of people are leading to the creation of many new businesses based on the country’s traditional economic system,” Praveen Khandelwal, National Secretary General of CAIT, stated.
According to Khandelwal, the demand for models of Ram Mandir has also seen a rapid increase and it is expected that over 5 crore models will be sold across the country.
Corporate Contributions To The Divine Feast
Parag Milk Foods, the creator of the Pride of Cows single-origin milk brand, has substantially donated its “premium ghee” for the consecration ceremony.
“We are delighted to contribute our premium ghee to the tirumala tirupati devasthanams for the consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, which will enhance the preparation of Srivari’s laddus,” said Devendra Shah, Chairman at Parag Milk Foods.
Nova Dairy also stated that its ghee has been chosen as a vital ingredient of the upcoming pran pratishtha ritual at the temple.
“We are deeply honored and humbled that the Ram Mandir committee has chosen our ghee for such a significant and sacred event. Purity has constantly been our top priority when it comes to our products, and we’re proud that our ghee lives up to the requirements of purity required for this ritual,” stated Sterling Agro Industries (Nova Dairy Products) director Ravin Saluja.
The producer of the refined oil brand, Fortune, Adani Wilmar also revealed its plans to join the celebrations on this occasion.
Vineeth Viswambharan, Associate Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Adani Wilmar, stated, “The Ram Mandir consecration celebrations in Ayodhya hold immense significance to those who will gather at Ayodhya from across the globe. We have planned to fascinate visitors with a carefully curated range of special traditional delicacies befitting the occasion, all prepared entirely using the range of Fortune products.”
Over seven days, Fortune plans to distribute over 25,000 jalebis, Fortune special pakoda platter, Fortune mega-bhog.
Simultaneously, the company is leveraging television through its sponsorship of the whole Shrimad Ramayana, which coincides with the celebrations in Ayodhya.
The sponsorship will include Fortune Master Brand, Chakki Fresh Atta, Soybean Oil, Mustard Oil, Soya Nuggets, Besan, Rice Bran Oil, and Kohinoor Basmati Rice. Television commercials for all these categories will be on air for this duration.
Kirana Stores Gear Up for Devotees
A survey by Kirana Club reveals that over 70 per cent of kirana stores in Ayodhya are stocking up on puja samagri, packed mithai, chocolates, chips, namkeen, cold drinks and personal care products in anticipation of increased footfall during the auspicious occasion.
“Local kirana owners are seeing this as a significant business opportunity to increase footfall in their stores and anticipating increased sales of Puja Samagri, Packed Mithai and Chocolates. The foresightedness of these retailers reflects their understanding of the current market and consumer pulse as well,” said Anshul Gupta, Founder, Kirana Club.
