Acquisition will give Meesho access to a network of over 4.1 million kirana retailers and strengthen its push into India’s B2B commerce and grocery distribution ecosystem
Meesho has signed a deal to acquire Kirana Club and Retail Pulse Labs for Rs 202.08 crore, strengthening its presence in India’s rapidly expanding digital commerce market and deepening its reach among neighbourhood retailers.
The transaction, cleared by the company’s board on 12 June 2026, will be completed in cash through three tranches by 31 March 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and conditions outlined in the share purchase agreement.
Following the completion of the acquisition, Kirana Club will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Meesho. Retail Pulse Labs will operate as a step-down subsidiary, with Meesho holding a 99.59 per cent indirect stake through Kirana Club and the remaining 0.41 per cent directly.
The move is aimed at expanding digital commerce access among small retailers, particularly kirana stores, which continue to account for a significant share of India’s retail distribution network.
Kirana Club operates a community-driven business-to-business (B2B) commerce platform that enables retailers to discover, compare and order fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and grocery products directly from brands. The platform has built a network of more than 4.1 million registered kirana retailers across the country.
Founded in 2020 by Anshul Gupta and Aishwarya Jain, Kirana Club runs a mobile-first marketplace focused on underserved retail segments across Bharat. The company said its platform caters to a grocery market valued at more than USD 650 billion, where kirana stores and general trade channels account for over 90 per cent of distribution.
