Jaipur GST appellate authority upholds tax order; company weighs further legal options
Bajaj Electricals said on Tuesday that a GST appellate authority has upheld a tax demand of Rs 61.18 lakh against the company, rejecting its appeal against an earlier assessment order issued by tax officials in Jaipur.
The demand was originally raised by the Assistant Commissioner, CGST Division-I, Jaipur, under Section 73 of the GST Act, 2017, and includes a general penalty of Rs 9.87 lakh, the company said.
Bajaj Electricals said it had challenged the assessment, citing judgments of the High Court, but the appellate authority rejected its submissions and upheld the earlier order.
The company said it is evaluating further legal options, including filing an appeal before the appropriate tribunal.
