As a precursor to the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, a seminar on the Textiles and Apparel sector themed “Future Ready 5F: Gujarat’s Textile Vision for Viksit Bharat’ will be held on 23 November 2023 at The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), Surat.
According to the official information, Chintan Thaker, Chairman-ASSOCHAM Gujarat Council will deliver the welcome address, followed by an Audio-Visual film on the Textile and Apparel ecosystem of Gujarat. CR Patil, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Minister of State for Textile, Government of India, and Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Industries, Government of Gujarat will also share their insights on Textile & Apparels’ role for Viksit Bharat @2047.
Vivek Mehta, CEO (Textile Division) Reliance Industries, Priyavrata Mafatlal, Vice Chairman, Arvind Mafatlal Group, Shri Kulin Lalbhai, Executive Director, Arvind Ltd will also share their views on Gujarat’s Textile and Apparel sector and the way forward for making the sector future ready. Shri. Ramesh Vaghasia, President- SGCCI will deliver the vote of thanks.
The overall event is divided in three sessions i.e., ‘Knitting Gujarat’s Textile Vision for Viksit Bharat’ which will be moderated by Suhail Nathani, Managing Partner of Economic Laws Practice and Chairman of the ASSOCHAM National Trade Council; ‘From Looms to Leading Edge Textile Infrastructure’ moderated by Prashant Agarwal, Co-founder, and Joint Managing Director of Wazir Advisors; and ‘Weaving Tradition Technology’ moderated by Suryadeb Mukherjee, Senior Consultant at Gherzi Textil Organisation.
Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Textiles, Darshana Vikram Jardosh, Minister of State for Textiles, Government of India, CR Patil, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Harsh Sanghavi, Minister of State for Industries, Sandip Sagale, IAS, Industries Commissioner, Daxesh Mavani Mayor Surat Municipal Corporation, and Roop Rashi (IA & AS), Textile Commissioner, Government of India, along with key dignitaries from the Textile & Apparel sector are expected to attend the event. The event will also witness participation from several reputed national and global speakers, industries, and other relevant stakeholders.
