In the early trade on Monday, the price of 24-carat gold saw a decline of Rs 10, with ten grams selling at Rs 62,940, as reported by the GoodReturns website. Simultaneously, the price of silver experienced a Rs 100 decrease, with one kilogram selling at Rs 74,400.
The price of 22-carat gold also witnessed a Rs 10 fall, with the yellow metal selling at Rs 57,690. The Mumbai prices for ten grams of 24-carat gold align with those in Kolkata and Hyderabad, standing at Rs 62,940.
In Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the prices for ten grams of 24-carat gold were Rs 63,090, Rs 62,940, and Rs 63,480, respectively.
For ten grams of 22-carat gold in Mumbai, the price matches that in Kolkata and Hyderabad at Rs 57,690. In Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the prices were Rs 57,840, Rs 57,690, and Rs 58,190, respectively.
US gold prices experienced a slight decrease, influenced by a stronger dollar, while investors awaited further information on the timing of the US Federal Reserve’s first interest rate cut of the year. Spot gold was down 0.3 per cent at USD 2,030.9 per ounce, and US gold futures dipped 0.4 per cent to USD 2,040.6 per ounce.
Other precious metals also saw declines, with spot platinum down 0.4 per cent at USD 896.95 per ounce, palladium falling 0.3 per cent at USD 968.23, and silver losing 0.4 per cent at USD 22.86 per ounce.
In Delhi and Mumbai, one kilogram of silver is currently trading at Rs 74,800, while in Chennai, it is trading at Rs 76,300.
