In a significant move to fortify its international fashion presence, Myntra, India’s leading fashion ecommerce platform, has intensified its collaboration with NEXT, the UK’s largest fashion retailer. Under this partnership, Myntra Jabong, Myntra’s B2B wholesale entity, has secured the distribution and management rights for NEXT’s extensive range of products in India, marking a crucial step in Myntra’s expansion strategy.
NEXT, renowned for its classic contemporary styles and exceptional quality, operates over 700 wholly owned and franchise stores across 70+ countries, establishing itself as a global fashion powerhouse. With its stronghold in the UK market and a burgeoning international footprint, NEXT presents an attractive proposition for Myntra to bolster its portfolio and cater to India’s discerning fashion enthusiasts.
The collaboration entails Myntra Jabong setting up NEXT branded stores in prominent Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, alongside a robust online presence on Myntra’s platform. This omnichannel approach aims to provide Indian consumers access to NEXT’s premium range of clothing for men, women, and children, renowned for its timeless appeal and unique price positioning.
Commenting on the partnership, Simon Wolfson, Chief Executive of NEXT, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are hugely excited to be working with Myntra in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets and very much look forward to seeing what can be achieved together.”
Nandita Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Myntra, echoed the sentiment, emphasising the strategic significance of the collaboration. “We are thrilled to deepen our association with NEXT and strategically build its omni channel presence in the country. With a successful trajectory of growing NEXT online in India, our first year of working together has resulted in establishing the right product, audience, and price fit in the country,” she remarked.
The partnership not only aims to enhance NEXT’s footprint in India but also opens avenues for introducing other NEXT-owned brands to the Indian market. Brands such as Reiss, Lipsy, Joules, and FatFace, among others, hold the potential to resonate with Indian consumers and further diversify Myntra’s offerings.
This development reinforces Myntra’s commitment to expanding its internationally licensed brand portfolio, enriching its platform with a diverse array of global fashion labels. As Myntra continues to champion innovation and collaboration in the fashion industry, its partnership with NEXT
marks a significant milestone in its journey towards offering unparalleled fashion experiences to Indian consumers.
