People in Bhopal celebrated the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol on Monday in the same way they do during Diwali.
Traders estimate that firecrackers worth over Rs 2.5 crore were sold in the city during the previous 3-4 days. Even on Monday, the firecracker market was buzzing with activity.
Traders reported that the firecracker business remained active from Dussehra until Diwali. Some sales occur during special occasions, such as New Year’s. However, this happened in January on the occasion of the dedication of the Ram Lalla idol.
According to firecracker sellers, demand for firecrackers has begun on the market over the last 15 days. The market demand for multi-shot firecrackers has surged during the previous four days. People have also purchased fireworks sets ranging from Rs 1000 to Rs 10,000. Some multi-shots gave the sky the appearance of rain.
Demand for all types of firecrackers was strong. As a result, by the evening, the traders’ supply had run out.
Firecracker sellers said that shopkeepers in nearby areas also acquired big numbers of firecrackers from the wholesale market.
