Patanjali Q3 Net Profit Slips 19%, Revenue Remains Flat

Patanjali Foods on Thursday reported a 19.3 per cent year-on-year (YoY) drop in net profit for the quarter ended December to Rs 217 crore. Revenue from operations fell 0.2 per cent to Rs 7,911 crore.

Sequentially, the topline rose just 1.1 per cent, while the bottomline dropped by nearly 15 per cent.

The primary food oils sector recorded a 15.3 per cent reduction in sales to Rs 5,483 crore, while the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) segment saw a 64 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 2,499 crore.

The overall revenue loss was controlled as a result of the rise in the FMCG industry.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) fell roughly 7 per cent  YoY to Rs 344 crore. Operating margin fell 30 basis points year on year to 4.35 per cent.

The loss in operational profit occurred despite a significant reduction in raw material costs. Input expenses are down 23.4 per cent YoY at Rs 4,957 crore.
