Retail Mind Group Enters India To Tap Retail, Real Estate Growth

Portugal-headquartered firm brings global expertise spanning 1,100 projects and over 2,000 store openings to support brand expansion, leasing and retail property development in India

Retail Mind Group, an international retail management and real estate advisory firm headquartered in Portugal, has launched operations in India as it seeks to capitalise on opportunities in the country’s expanding retail and commercial property markets. The company aims to help Indian brands scale nationally and enter international markets, while supporting global retailers seeking to establish or strengthen their presence in India.

Founded in 2012, Retail Mind Group has worked with major global brands and been involved in more than 1,100 projects and over 2,000 store openings across diverse retail markets. With operations in four countries and projects spanning Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, the group plans to combine its international experience with local market knowledge through its Indian operations.

Focus On Retail Expansion And Real Estate
Retail Mind India will offer services spanning retail expansion, leasing strategy, franchise development, asset and property management, and retail real estate projects. The company will work with brands, retailers, developers, property owners and investors to identify expansion opportunities and develop strategies aligned with business objectives.

Its services will also cover location strategy, leasing, asset management and mixed-use developments across retail, hospitality and other commercial formats. The company aims to support projects through different stages of development, helping businesses align their operational requirements with location potential and project objectives.

For Indian brands looking to expand overseas, the group intends to draw on its international network and experience in market entry and retail operations. It will also assist international brands in navigating India’s retail landscape and identifying opportunities for expansion.

India’s Changing Retail Landscape
India’s consumption growth, economic expansion and improving infrastructure are creating opportunities for retail development beyond established metropolitan markets. At the same time, changing consumer preferences and global retail trends are influencing store formats, customer experience and the way brands approach market expansion.

These developments are creating opportunities for domestic retailers to expand into new markets and explore international growth, while global brands look to tap into India’s expanding consumer base. Retail Mind Group plans to use its international retail management experience to help businesses assess these opportunities and navigate evolving market conditions.

Commenting on the India launch, Vitor Rocha, chief executive officer of Retail Mind Group, said the country was an important market in the company’s international expansion journey.

“Our aim is to bring the best of the global retail and property sectors to India, while showcasing the best of India’s retail and property projects to the world. Our focus is on bringing our international experience to the market, building strong local relationships and understanding what businesses need to succeed here,” Rocha said.

Pinkesh Shah, partner and co-owner of Retail Mind India, said the country’s retail landscape offered opportunities across established markets as well as emerging retail destinations.

“Businesses need more than a location to expand successfully; they need the right strategy, market understanding and execution. Retail Mind India will work closely with clients to help them assess these opportunities and develop plans suited to their business objectives,” Shah said.

International Expertise Meets Local Market Needs
Retail Mind Group operates across Portugal, Spain, Colombia and Brazil, with capabilities spanning brand management and expansion, franchising, leasing, asset and property management, and international market entry. Its expertise also extends to hospitality, logistics and mixed-use developments.

Through its India operations, the group aims to establish local relationships and apply its international experience to the requirements of the domestic market. Its entry comes as retailers and property developers reassess expansion strategies amid changing consumer demand, evolving retail formats and growing interest in new commercial destinations.
