Enabled 8.5 Lakh Seasonal Job Opportunities This Festive Season: Meesho

To provide better operational facilities for customers in the deepest corners of the country, Meesho continues to work with third-party logistics (3PL) providers including Delhivery, Ecom Express, Shadowfax, and Xpressbees

Marking a 70 per cent increase compared to last year, Meesho, an ecommerce marketplace, has notified about the enablement of around 8.5 lakh seasonal job opportunities within its seller and logistics network ahead of this year’s festive season. Around 60 per cent of these come from tier 3 and tier 4 regions, as per the company’s statement.

Meesho’s sellers have hired 5 lakh seasonal workers as part of their requirements for the festive season this year and are providing short and comprehensive training sessions to equip them in various capacities, including, sorting, manufacturing, and packaging. Moreover, sellers have also undertaken additional preparations, such as introducing new products and venturing into new categories, curating festive collections, and conducting inventory checks to fulfil increased customer demands, as per the company’s statement.

“This festive season, we are particularly thrilled to have enabled 8.5 lakh seasonal jobs, especially in tier-3 and beyond cities. Empowering SMBs, local manufacturers and logistics providers to scale their business is resulting in meaningful economic opportunities that are driving financial inclusion in these regions,” stated Sourabh Pandey, Chief Experience Officer (CXO), Fulfilment and Experience, Meesho.

To provide better operational facilities for customers in the deepest corners of the country, Meesho continues to work with third-party logistics (3PL) providers including Delhivery, Ecom Express, Shadowfax, and Xpressbees, among others. These logistics partnerships along with Valmo have helped generate 3.5 lakh seasonal job opportunities.

“At Shadowfax, we are fully prepared and excited to meet the demands of the festive season by scaling our logistics capacity like never before. We are particularly excited to nearly double our capacity across several value-added services, such as Reverse Quality Check-Based Pickups, Hand-to-Hand Doorstep Exchange, and Open Box Delivery—many of which we’ve developed in partnership with Meesho over the past year,” said Abhishek Bansal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-founder, Shadowfax.
