The embedded commerce feature combines UPI payments and regulated credit, allowing consumers to spread purchases across multiple interest-free instalments
Flipkart-backed fintech super.money has expanded its consumer offerings with splitStore, a commerce feature integrated into its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app that enables users to shop across multiple categories and repay purchases in zero-interest instalments without requiring a credit card.
The feature combines shopping, payments and embedded credit within a single platform, targeting Gen Z and consumers new to formal credit. Users can access the service after completing a Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process. According to the company, splitStore carries no interest or processing fees and has been built in partnership with regulated lenders.
The platform offers more than 6 million products across categories including mobiles, fashion, electronics, appliances, beauty, fitness, home and furniture, and gourmet food. Brands available include Apple, Nothing, Mokobara, Nike, Marshall, Adidas and Snitch, with deliveries supported by Flipkart’s logistics network.
“UPI transformed how India pays. We believe that the next opportunity is transforming how India shops. Consumers today don’t just expect instant payments; they expect instant access. With splitStore, we’re making affordability a seamless part of the checkout experience by combining the speed and trust of UPI with responsible credit,” said Prakash Sikaria, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, super.money.
According to the company, splitStore is currently available to a select group of users and will be rolled out in phases. It cited industry estimates suggesting affordability-led payment solutions could account for nearly 14 per cent of India’s ecommerce transaction value, with the market expected to exceed USD 29 billion in 2026. The company added that UPI now accounts for more than 85 per cent of India’s digital payment volumes, creating opportunities for fintech firms to integrate commerce and credit into payment platforms
