Flipkart Minutes Sees 30X Surge In Raksha Bandhan Gifting

Quick commerce platform emerges as go-to for last-minute yet meaningful celebrations

 

This Raksha Bandhan, Flipkart Minutes recorded an impressive 30-fold surge in gifting orders, underscoring a growing shift towards quick commerce for time-sensitive occasions. The app’s busiest period fell between 7 PM and 9 PM, with 8 PM emerging as the single most active hour, reflecting its role in helping customers deliver thoughtful gestures within tight timeframes.
From metros such as the NCR, Bengaluru and Mumbai to Tier-2 cities including Lucknow, Kanpur and Patna, shoppers relied on Flipkart Minutes to ensure their gifts arrived in time for the festival. Popular gifting categories — including sweets, dry fruits, perfumes and non-food combos — saw robust growth, while utility-driven items like wristwatches, handbags and wallets also performed strongly, suggesting that consumers sought a blend of sentiment and practicality.
Among rakhis, religious, designer and assorted varieties topped the sales charts. Festive staples such as chocolates and gift boxes registered a more than fivefold increase in demand, while traditional sweets soared by 12 times and dry fruits by three times. The most-searched items included Celebrations assorted chocolates, Rakhi gift packs, hampers, dry fruit boxes, stationery gifts, women’s perfume sets and exotic dark chocolate assortments, pointing to a mix of traditional and contemporary preferences.
With more consumers embracing real-time celebrations, Flipkart Minutes has further cemented its position as a preferred platform for delivering timely, meaningful gifts during moments that matter most.
