The Tata Group retailer reported a 25 per cent rise in consolidated profit to Rs 468 crore, while operating Ebitda grew 37 per cent to Rs 785 crore in the September quarter
Trent, the Tata Group retailer behind Westside and Zudio, reported a 22 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated revenue from operations to Rs 5,873 crore in the second quarter of FY27. Consolidated profit after tax (Pat) rose 25 per cent to Rs 468 crore, while operating Ebitda increased 37 per cent to Rs 785 crore in the quarter ended 30 September 2026.
On a standalone basis, revenue from operations grew 23 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,788 crore. Operating Ebitda rose 37 per cent to Rs 791 crore, while Pat increased 9 per cent to Rs 490 crore compared with the corresponding quarter last year.
For the first half of FY27, consolidated revenue increased 20 per cent year-on-year to Rs 11,628 crore. Operating Ebitda grew 35 per cent to Rs 1,633 crore, while Pat rose 24 per cent to Rs 986 crore. Standalone revenue for the six months reached Rs 11,454 crore, up 21 per cent, as operating Ebitda increased 37 per cent to Rs 1,638 crore and Pat grew 17 per cent to Rs 1,021 crore.
Zudio Network Reaches 999 Stores
Trent added 19 Zudio stores and 10 Westside outlets during the September quarter, while consolidating two Zudio stores. As of 30 September 2026, its Zudio network stood at 999 stores across India and the UAE, including seven outlets in the UAE. Westside operated 311 stores, while 32 outlets operated under other lifestyle concepts.
The company’s fashion retail businesses had a combined presence across 339 cities, including three in the UAE, with a retail footprint exceeding 18.5 million square feet. The expansion comes as Trent continues to scale its fashion formats while broadening its presence beyond established markets.
Trent said the gross margin profiles of Westside and Zudio remained stable during the quarter. Its operating EBIT margin improved to 11.6 per cent from 10.5 per cent in the year-ago quarter, while emerging categories such as beauty and personal care, innerwear and footwear contributed more than 21 per cent of revenue.
Westside’s online business, including sales through the Tata Neu platform, continued to grow profitably. Online revenue increased 20 per cent in the first half of FY27 and accounted for more than 6 per cent of Westside’s revenue, according to the company.
Star Revenue Grows Over 20%
Trent’s Star food and grocery business recorded revenue growth of more than 20 per cent during the September quarter, despite an evolving competitive environment. The company added one store, taking the network to 87 outlets across 13 cities.
Own-brand products accounted for more than 74 per cent of Star’s revenue, according to chairman Noel N Tata. The contribution highlights the importance of Trent’s private-label portfolio to its food and grocery business.
Tata said the company’s brands recorded solid consumer traction during the quarter, supported by more robust consumer sentiment despite inflationary pressures. He also pointed to the response to Trent’s expansion into tier 2 and 3 markets, saying it had strengthened the company’s conviction to extend its presence in smaller cities and hinterland markets.
“As we look ahead, we will continue to invest in expanding our footprint, with a focus on building scale and strengthening our position across markets,” Tata said, adding that the food and grocery opportunity remained significant.
Reflecting on Trent’s evolution, Tata said the company had grown from a relatively small participant in the fashion sector into a leading player, with growth, profitability and capital efficiency remaining central to its approach.
